Why we started
FMBanksia.com was founded on a simple frustration: too much personal-finance content is either dumbed down or dressed up. It treats readers as if they cannot handle a real idea, or it buries a simple point under jargon designed to impress rather than inform.
We take a different view. People are perfectly capable of understanding their own money; they just deserve to have it explained clearly, with the risks as visible as the benefits. That belief shapes every guide we publish, from a first budget to the shape of the yield curve.
Our coverage spans seven sections: Investing, Banking, Markets, Personal Finance, Crypto, Real Estate and our general Blog.
What we stand for
We write for readers, not advertisers. No company can pay to change what we say about a product, a bank or an investment.
Finance is complicated enough. We translate it into plain, honest language and use hypothetical examples instead of invented statistics.
No hype, no fear and no countdown timers. Just calm, considered guidance built to stay useful long after the headlines move on.
Guides are researched from primary sources and checked by an editor. When facts change, we update the guide and show the date.
Good to know
We are a publication, not a bank, broker, lender or financial adviser. We do not hold deposits, sell financial products or manage anyone’s money, and nothing on FMBanksia.com is personalised advice. It is education, and that difference matters.
Because we have nothing to sell, our only incentive is to be worth reading again next week. Our editorial policy explains how we research, review and correct our work, and our financial disclaimer sets out how to use our guides responsibly.

How we work
We start with regulators, government agencies and official data, and link to those sources so you can check them yourself.
We strip out jargon and explain ideas with clearly hypothetical examples rather than numbers that cannot be verified.
An editor checks every claim, figure and caveat for accuracy and balance before a guide is published.
When rates or rules change, guides are updated and re-dated. Readers can report anything that looks out of date.

Editorial Team
Writers and editors, FMBanksia.com
Every guide on FMBanksia.com carries the Editorial Team byline because no article is the work of one person: it is researched, written, checked and updated as a team.
The people behind the guides
Our team researches and writes guides across investing, banking, markets, budgeting, crypto and property. Each article is reviewed by an editor who checks the facts against the original sources, makes sure the risks are clearly explained and confirms that examples are labelled as hypothetical.
We publish under a shared Editorial Team byline so that responsibility for accuracy sits with the whole publication. If you spot an error or have a question about a guide, we want to hear from you.
